This is the first close-up worked photographic image I have used in 6 months. Something I read yesterday made me think of the very strong influence of light and gravity on physical appearance. The extremes -lying flat looking up, and lying but looking downwards- produce extraordinarily different views, neither of which are ordinarily viewed by the self.

This goes a long way to explaining some of the extreme representations of self generated by #adailyselfreflection.

Apps used were Art Studio for a bit of brushwork around the edges and manipulating the layers and filter selections; and Camera Bag for a good old 1970s feel.

Show opening

There is something very special about the opening of a show with new work. Stress is unavoidable in the few months leading up to it....
